Guidelines for Prospective New Members to The Irish Texel Sheep Society

It is recommended that potential new members should contact the Society prior to purchasing foundation stock from other registered flocks.
Beware, If pedigree certificates are not supplied with your purchase(s) there is a high probability that these are been sold unregistered and therefore may not be eligible for registration with the Society for a particular reason. All females must be registered with the Irish Texel Society prior to being sold for Pedigree breeding in the Republic of Ireland. Sheep bought that are registered with the British Texel Society will incur an importation registration charge to the Irish Texel Society.
All intending members must join the society prior to lambing. Lambs born outside membership of the Society cannot be registered after registering your flock with the Society.
