This poem was inspired from a visit to our National Championships in Gorey.

Judging Sheep
What a difficult job to do!
Picking the right sheep it's true
Sure conformation says it all
A good level back are ones to recall.

Four good legs & closed down hips,
Where the judge can get to grips!
Checking their teeth & running hand on head of soft white hair.

A good black sparkling nose adds flare
And a good ear is nice to see.
Tight wool and skin does it for me
The judges decision is final on the day
They decide who wins with the best display.
They flocked from all over Ireland to the Gorey Show,
Familiar faces we have come to know.
